Ariadne + Minotaur revisits the ancient myth as a living emotional and cultural memory. Rather than illustrating the story literally, Christina Darras explores how its meaning shifts with time and with what we are ready—or need—to see.
The new body of work draws on the CMYK colour system—cyan, magenta, yellow and black—as a visual code. Handmade paper puppets bring Ariadne and the Minotaur into conversation with Pegasus, Medusa, Kyra Sarakosti and fragments of oral tradition and collective memory.
Memory also becomes personal through a father–daughter collaboration. Alongside Darras’s work are labyrinth-like collages by her 98-year-old father, Giorgos Kampouroglou, made from recycled packaging. Together, the works reflect generational continuity and the enduring impulse to create.
